I am beyond excited to host our brand-new winter getaway in Iceland! Winter in Iceland can be magical: snowy mountain peaks, bright blue skies, and incredible star-filled nights – all dependent on the weather of course. Because Icelandic winter weather loves to keep us on our toes, this trip is designed around flexibility, warmth, and feel-good vibes. We don’t follow a rigid, stress-filled schedule; instead, we flow with the weather and embrace the true spirit of an Icelandic winter. Keep in mind that we cannot promise good weather, snowy mountains or Northern Lights.
Required riding experience: Beginner/Intermediate/experienced.

Tag-Along / Non-Rider Option: €1,680 per person in a shared room
Private Room (with private bathroom): €2,780 per person
Included: 5 nights in luxury accommodation, 3 meals a day, alcoholic drinks on on evening, personal hors and riding, mountain herd feeding excursions, sheep farm tour, guided knitting workshop + icelandic wool supplies, sauna & jacuzzi, BSÍ Reykjavík transfers to the lodge and back (4pm pickup and 2 pm drop off), full hosting by Tereza & the ranch team!

Whether you want to bond deeply with your own horse for the week or simply tag along for the cozy winter magic, this trip is all about slowing down, connecting, and enjoying the winter wonderland. You'll be paired with your very own Icelandic horse. You'll care for them, feed them twice a day, groom them, and build a real personal connection. We aim for two beautiful 2-hour rides during the week. Beginners, intermediate, and advanced riders are all welcome! On non-riding or snowier days, we’ll take the ranch vehicles up to feed our herd of 140 horses resting in their winter mountain pastures. Getting to meet these extra-fluffy, snow-loving beauties and bring them hay in the cold is an unforgettable experience.
Enjoy 2 cozy afternoon knitting workshops using authentic Icelandic wool. An expert will guide us in making a warm beanie, scarf, or pair of gloves (all materials provided!). If you fall in love with the craft, we can even take you to a wool shop and you can make something more advanced! We'll also visit a neighboring local sheep farm for an educational tour, lots of sheep snuggles, and a lovely homemade lunch on the farm.
After cold winter mornings and some outdoor time, it gets dark around 4/5pm so we will have plenty of time to relax, read a book, keep knitting or thaw out in the outdoor jacuzzi and sauna under the starry sky. Thanks to our scenic location and hopefully crisp winter nights, we have a great chance of spotting the Aurora Borealis right from our luxurious accommodation. The lodge features cozy shared or private rooms, all with private bathrooms. Your stay includes three delicious meals daily: A generous morning breakfast to power up your day, warm soups, fresh waffles, or small lunches throughout the day and a hearty Icelandic dinner sourced locally, featuring fresh fish from neighboring fishermen and local Icelandic lamb.
We know many friends or couples love traveling together where one person is obsessed with horses and the other… not so much! We want both of you to be able to enjoy this holiday together. We offer a special Tag-Along Pass. You’ll join us for all the meals, the sheep farm visit, the knitting classes, the jacuzzi sessions, etc etc —without the riding or horse-care responsibilities.
Winter in Iceland can be snowy, stormy, and sunny all in one afternoon! We cannot promise you snow, or Northern Lights, but we can for sure say that it will be cold. Packing warm layers is essential. We will also try to provide full-body winter suits for guests (we have to check sizing before you arrive). A more detailed packing list will be shared with you.
